Mosley admits underdog to Pacquiao but remains unthreatened

Shane Mosley feels a victory over WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on Saturday and it would be his biggest ever despite a glittering career that includes world titles in three weight classes.

"That would be the best victory at this time," Mosley told reporters at the MGM Grand, the site of Saturday’s fight. "If I fight Pacquiao and beat him, there will probably have to be another one, because people won’t believe it."

Mosley has yet to be knocked out during his professional career, but his comment was a clear admission that despite a record of 46-6-1 with 39 knockouts, including two victories over compatriot Oscar de la Hoya, he will be a heavy underdog against the Filipino Pacquiao.

That reflects the fact that the 39-year-old Mosley’s record is a pedestrian 8-6-1 since the end of 2001 and his last fight in Las Vegas was a comprehensive points defeat against fellow American Floyd Mayweather one year ago.

In that fight, Mosley rocked Mayweather badly in the second round but could not capitalize and lost every round after. But he insisted the difference in styles between the two makes the Mayweather fight meaningless when evaluating Saturday’s fight.

Mosley is up to expose Pacquiao's weak points

With less than three weeks to go before the highly anticipated match between Pacquiao vs Mosley will commence at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mosley in a recent interview said that he will exploit Pacquiao's weakness when they fight on May 7. As each day pass, Shane Mosley becomes more and more confident as he tries to whip out something huge for Pacquiao. Shane is currently training in Big Bear, California with his trainer Coach Naazim Richardson. Pacquiao's current 13-winning streak is expected to win the fight and makes Mosley no different from the recent fighter the south paw has face in the past.

Mosley is an entertaining boxer that throws a lot of punches and is able to deliver a heavy blow on the defense of his opponents throw. Pacquiao does the same thing but in terms of power and speed in which the boxing world see it as entertaining to watch for a boxing match. We all know that Pacquiao has flaws, said Mosley and he promises to capitalize on those errors and put Pacquiao down. Mosley is considered to be more accurate with his punches and does more damage.
